This dresser came out of a home on 10th Avenue SW that was cleared following the owner's passing. It belonged to the same family for at least three generations — a daughter believed it was purchased new in the early 1950s from a furniture store that used to operate downtown.
The piece is built the way furniture was built when furniture was meant to last. Each drawer is joined with hand-cut dovetails. The bottom drawer is cedar-lined, which kept its cedar scent through all these decades. The brass bail pulls are original; none have been replaced or recast.
The top has light ring marks and a couple of fine scratches consistent with 70+ years of daily use. These are superficial and can be addressed with a careful wipe of danish oil or a light professional refinish if desired. Structurally the piece is completely sound — no wobble, no loose joints.
Dimensions: 52" wide × 20" deep × 48" tall.
